[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Shawn Whochner will represent University of Wisconsin – Whitewater at the the 2016 Midwest College Combine in St Paul, Minnesota on December 11, 2016.
Shawn is in his seventh season as the Head Coach of the UW-W Men’s Bowling Team. Coming off the most successful season in school history, Shawn is looking forward to building upon the foundation that has been put in place! He looks to lead the team to their fourth consecutive trip to the Intercollegiate Team Championships in Baton Rouge,LA in April and try to bring home their first piece of hardware from the Intercollegiate Team Championships!
Previous to coming to Whitewater, Shawn began his coaching career at Robert Morris University – Illinois. He was the Men’s Assistant Coach from 2007 through 2010. He was a part of the men’s program from the first tournament to their first trip to the Intercollegiate Team Championships in 2009 and their second trip in 2010. Shawn is a USBC Bronze Certified Coach.
Shawn bowled his college career at Western Illinois University from 1997 – 2001. He was a part of the team that captured the 2001 Intercollegiate Team Championships inGrand Rapids, MI. Shawn was named the 1997 YABA National and Illinois Youth Leader of the Year and the 1998 Illinois Star of Tomorrow. In 2012, Shawn became the first inductee in the Western Illinois University Sports Club Hall of Fame. Shawn was named the 2014 National Collegiate Bowling Coaches Association (NCBCA) Kerm Helmer Coach of the Year as well as the 2015 and 2016 Randy Widger Men’s Club Coach of the Year! In 2015, the Bowlers Journal International named Shawn one of their “100 Top Bowling Coaches” in 2015 and 2016. He was also the recipient of the Gordon Teigen Meritorious Service Award for college bowling![/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]
