The 2021 Midwest Collegiate Bowling Experience & Expo was held at Mermaid Entertainment and Event Center, Mounds View, Minnesota on December 12, 2021. The event had 125 bowlers and 23 colleges in attendance.
Bowlers competed in a USBA Flight Series format event while college coaches observed and interacted with the athletes during the event. The unique format of the USBA Flight Format allows bowlers of all skill level to compete together in a scratch format. After 3 games bowlers were place in flights of 10 with the final flight having 15 bowlers. The bowlers then bowled an additional 2 games to determine the top two bowlers in each flight. The top two bowlers in each flight, advanced to a head-to-head match to determine the winner in each flight. During the tournament, parents attended seminars to learn more about the college process.
Congratulations to Kaeden Mavec (U15), Claire Jacobson (U15), Garett Wolkenhauer (U18) and Kenna Wallace (U18) for winning Junior Gold spots in Grand Rapids, MI July 15-23 (U12-U18) and July 11-15 (U20).
Once the tournament was completed, the bowlers and parents attended the Expo portion of the event where they were able to talk to the college coaches and get more information about the colleges and collegiate bowling programs.
